Hello, Ogden!

There is something special about the pace of a small town—the way people wave from their porches and the sense of history held within the walls of its main street buildings. After over 20 years in the fast-paced world of photography and IT "Out West", I’ve decided it’s time for a change of scenery.

I’m Steven Murphy, and I am honored to announce that I’m moving to Ogden to breathe new life into a familiar spot: the Murphy’s Surplus building.

A Legacy Continued

You might know the building’s recent history. My brother Alan originally intended to bring a piece of their San Diego-based business here. Unfortunately, between a flood and the unexpected hurdles life tends to throw our way, those plans had to be put on hold.

However, the building stayed in the family. After 15 years of marriage ended in an amicable divorce, I realized I was looking for exactly what Ogden offers: a fresh start and a place where I can use my hands and my head to serve my neighbors. Taking over the family building isn't just a business move for me; it’s a commitment to this community.

Technology Without the Headache

I’ve spent two decades in IT support, and I know that technology can be a source of frustration. Whether it’s a home computer that won’t cooperate or a small business needing a reliable network, I pride myself on one thing: speaking your language. I believe you shouldn't need a degree in computer science to understand why your Wi-Fi is slow or your laptop is acting up. I’m here to provide professional IT and computer services with a focus on clear communication and neighborly trust.

When I’m not behind a keyboard, I’m behind a lens. I’ve been a professional photographer since 2000, and my passion is simple: capturing the moments.
